Welcome Miss Emery!

Miss Emery arrived 2 weeks ago today, and I got to photograph her at only 7 days old. I love photographing newborns under two weeks old because it’s the only time I really enjoy posing. I normally tend to photograph more lifestyle, but with newborns I love to do a little bit of both.  Newborns under two weeks of age will generally sleep in between feedings and allow you to pose them.  Emery did perfect, and I’m so happy to welcome her to the family!

Miss Emery:
Nothing beats a newborn close-up. So precious ♥Love these colors, and how adorable Miss Emery looks ♥This picture epitomizes a “lifestyle shot” and it will always be my favorite. This is the kind of photo that brings tears to my eyes; can’t you just feel the love?!
Look at that little smile, LOVE!Daddy’s finger ♥

The Rauch’s:
I look forward to watching Miss Emery grow, and someday soon we’ll get brother and sister together. Much love to you all ♥

The Marsh Family~expecting baby Emma

I’ve documented the Marsh family a few times in the past couple of years, usually Ian’s milestones, and I’ve always adored this little family. They are expecting a little girl in just a few short weeks, and I look forward to meeting Emma when she arrives.

Jen is such a gorgeous momma. She’s all belly, and it is just the cutest!  Ian and Dustin aren’t too shabby themselves:)Here’s just a few of my favorites from our maternity session in the Marsh home.

Classic:♥♥♥
Jen, you make me want to grow out my hair; beautiful! ♥♥
Such a cute nursery for Miss Emma. I love that fabric flower:)Gorgeous girl!Cute stuff right there…One of the Marsh fur babies:)Perfect bump ♥This next series is just too cute for words.  It is especially meaningful because Dustin is a paramedic!
Marsh family: Thank you for another opportunity to document your adorable family. I can’t wait until Emma’s newborn shoot:)

Great pictures Jen!!!!

Expecting Emery

The Rauch’s are expecting a little girl, Emery, any day now. I’m pulling for my birthday, Valentine’s Day! Stacy is on bed-rest, after going into labor a little early, but she has made it to the 36 week point, so we are all hoping that she is in the clear of having to stay in the NICU.  I went up to visit them, and brought my camera along to just snap a few photos in their home. These were all taken at night with an off camera flash, and a paper backdrop, so I’m pretty proud, because natural light is definitely my forte. We just kept it real simple, and got a handful of shots that document this special time for them. And you know what I realized keeping it simple, is just my style! I love it.

Eric + Skyler testing my light:)

Love this, another posing idea I found on Pinterest.Perfect ♥LOVE…
Honk, honk:)Can’t wait to hear about the arrival of my newest cousin, Emery! Best of luck, and lots of love to the Rauch’s ♥

The newest owner of my heart ~ Quinn Michael

This is just the beginning of the photo shoot that never ends. Mr. Quinn is all of 2.5 weeks old, and I have already taken over 1,000 pictures of him!:)My dear nephew belongs to my one and only sister, Nicole, my brother-in-law Mike, and my adorable niece, Ava.  I know it’s hard to imagine the capacity of love one feels for their own children until you have them, but the love I feel for my niece and nephew is so big, and has grown my heart.

Sometimes people say, “I wish you were my kids aunt!” Mostly because of the free photo shoots, lol:)It’s quite funny to me, because I know being my sister is not all gravy. Despite my faults, Nicole and Mike have given me a gift I can never repay them. I got to watch both Ava and Quinn come into this world, and they trust me to take care of them, and play a part in helping to raise their beautiful children. It’s an amazing responsibility, that I do not take lightly.  I’m not always perfect, I once taught Ava the words to “Ice, Ice , baby” and most recently “Jump Over the cracks, so you don’t break your momma’s back” but it’s all in good fun:)

Here are just a few of my favorites from our several mini photo sessions:

I saw this idea on Pinterest, come follow me their if you’d like! I thought it was such a cute idea, and I think I’ll keep the name tags in my bag in case anyone else wants to do this. I try not to come empty handed for miss Ava. Yes, I spoil her:)I made her a special heart shape cookie on this day.
Quinn is always smiling, he made it easy for me to catch one. Love this little teddy bear:)We tried out every hat I had in my bag:)such a kissable little face. We knew he had the most perfect lips since he was in Nicole’s belly. He was showing them off in the ultrasound!

Proud daddy ♥We’re still working on getting the perfect shot of these two together, but I’ll take this any day. Ava girl is so sweet with her little brother ♥this girl… cannot take a bad picture. That smile and twinkle in her eye gets me every time.

Oh Family:)This snapshot just makes me smile♥Belair’s: You know I love you, and when you get sick of me, my camera, and all the props, too bad, you are stuck with me!

Adam+Kate ~ Engaged!

Getting back to work! I’ve been looking forward to sharing last week’s engagement session on the blog. We happen to shoot on the one day we actually had an accumulation of snow, yah! Call me crazy, but if it’s going to be cold and grey, I’d rather have snow on the ground… great for pictures, and for playing!

Katie+Adam are so sweet together.  You can tell they just have something special that makes them work.  We shot around Adam’s parent’s home, which just happens to be a pretty farm with old barns and lots of fun ‘photo props’. On to the pictures….

Katie+Adam:

♥♥♥This is definitely one of my favorites! Katie, you are gorgeous girl! Ok, so I’m pretty sure they thought I was crazy to use this old car, but I love  it:)We ended in a wooded lot, and these are some of my faves…Love this of Adam:
FAVORITE! Adam+Katie: Thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer! I’m so excited to be working with you, and I can’t wait until your August wedding:)
