Karlee is 1!

A few weeks ago I met up with Karlee, and her parent’s, Valynn and Matt, for our first photo session. Karlee just turned one, she’s very stylin’, and on the go, go, go!  We were nervous that she wasn’t all smiles, but when I got home I was pleasantly surprised with all of the smiles I caught:)

Here’s Karlee:

So pretty:I love this family picture ♥So  cute:):)She loved all the leaves! This is a favorite for me… love those little crossed legs:)Frank family: Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet and photograph your little girl! She’s perfect ♥

I heart Faces photo challenge: “Bust a gut”

Every now and then I try to enter the I heart faces weekly challenges. I love their website, tutorials, and contests. It is a perfect way to breakup my work flow a little bit. This weeks theme, Laughter, or busting a gut, results in my most favorite images. This is from a session last week. Loved this family, and this little guy playing with his dad. I’m missing this blue Michigan sky this week, but I’m getting lots of editing done on these rainy days.

It’s hard to feel like I had a successful session if I don’t get at least a few frames of laughter. I personally think we are all prettier when we’re laughing:)

Christmas Minis 2011

A couple of weeks ago I held my 2nd annual Christmas mini session outside at Matthes Tree Farm in Ida.  It was a nice sunny day, and thanks to the 8 beautiful families that came out. I don’t want to share to much, because these pictures are to be Christmas cards and presents for a lot of people so just a few highlights to give you a glimpse from the day.

That serious reindeer look is killing me:)
Oh these sisters keep me on my toes, and are so darn adorable:Miss B, love her so much, and she is always fun  to photograph…This was the first time I documented these kids, shh… it’s a present for Grandma:) The 4 Cousino girls, are just too cute, and I love how mom had them dressed. These cousins came all bundled up in their cute and colorful winter garb. This is just how I envisioned a Christmas mini session to look….
Jeremy and Rachel, one of my weddings from last year, have so much to celebrate this year. It was awesome to meet 3 month old Joel; One of my favorite families from this year came back for round 2. I just love how they are able to relax and be themselves during a photo session. For a photographer this time of year can be a little stressful with all the deadlines and extra shooting, but looking at the happiness in these photos makes it all worth it! Thanks again to all of my wonderful clients that support this dream of mine ♥ I’d love to see how your Christmas cards come out! Please send me one if you have any extra:)

Chris+Meagan (engaged)

I’ve been excited to share this session for a couple of weeks now. This fall has been an awesome season of engagements, and I’m loving that my couples are using tools like Pinterest to get an idea of what they want in their photography. The best sessions are a blend of my ideas and style with that of the couple. Meagan had so many cute ideas and just in chatting about their wedding, and the details, I could not be more excited! Chris+ Meagan make a great couple, they balance each other, and it is just easy to see and document their love. The best thing about being a photographer is being able to show true, authentic emotions between people; Finding what makes their relationship special.

Chris+Meagan:
They bought this sign shortly after getting engaged. ♥Meagan you are beautiful! I call this model hair:)This is one of my favorites: ♥♥♥What is it with Willow trees? Every time I find one… I must incorporate it. The bokeh, the light… perfect. These are a little different than I’ve ever done before, and I love them all: One last stop as the sun was setting:Chris+Meagan: I could not be more excited to be working with you. I hope you love these pictures as much as I do!

Brendon+Samantha (married 10.15.11)

Brendon and Sam were married on a pretty fall day this October. It was also the windiest day of the whole year, no matter though, the day went off beautifully. Through working with both Sam and Brendon I’ve learned what genuine, good people they are. They love whole heartedly, make each other laugh, and are always going out of their way to make others feel special. I knew it right away after meeting them, but then they invited me to their rehearsal dinner, sam made me a necklace and wine glass just like the one she made her bridesmaids, and the list goes on. You just don’t see that level of kindness everyday, and their family and friends are lucky to have these two around.

Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the day.

I started the day at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Toledo:
Married ♥Oh man that picture of Brendon and his grandma, LOVE! ♥After the wedding, we went to visit Sam’s mom, who is in a nursing home. It was such a touching moment to see how happy it made her to see her girl all dressed up on her wedding day.We then made our way to Olander Park for a few more photos and the reception.

Thanks for taking the time to do just a few more portraits at sunset. The wind had died down just a little, and the lighting was perfect. These are some of my favorite shots from the day:
♥♥♥You two are soo cute ♥I snagged a few of the other couples out on the deck as well.First dances:And the party continued! Sam+Brendon have such a fun group of family and friends; It was quite the party!Sam+Brendon: I can’t wait to share the rest with you! Thank you for choosing me as your photographer, it was a true honor to document your love:)

Angie the pictures are absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to see the rest of them. I am so greatful you were able to do our wedding, you were able to capture our wedding in a way that depicted how truely happy we were that day, and catch the most important parts that went so fast we couldn’t see them all. thank you again Samantha and Brendon.
